About Us

We are a regionally and nationally recognized top-tier general contractor with over four decades of experience delivering complex construction projects across Nevada and the Mountain West. Locally operated and community-rooted, we are proud of a culture that puts people before projects. Our core values — Honesty and Integrity, Responsibility and Accountability, Mutual Trust and Respect, Consistent Performance Through Teamwork, and Opportunities for Our Clients and Associates to Achieve Their Goals — guide everything we do. We are currently expanding our Northern Nevada team and are seeking exceptional construction professionals to grow with us.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Finishes Superintendent to lead the interior and exterior finish phases of large-scale commercial construction projects in the Reno/Northern Nevada market. In this role, you will own the complete finish-out scope — from initial drywall and framing rough-in through plaster, paint, ceiling systems, flooring, millwork, and final punch list — ensuring that every surface and system meets the quality standards our clients and the design team demand. You will also have accountability for shell completion activities including exterior wall assemblies, building envelope, and related weatherproofing systems. This is a highly visible field leadership role with direct impact on project delivery, subcontractor performance, and owner satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and direct all finishing trade work including drywall (metal stud framing, GWB, finishing), plaster, EIFS/stucco, painting, ACT/specialty ceiling systems, flooring, millwork, and casework
  • Oversee shell scope including exterior metal framing, sheathing, waterproofing, air barriers, and building envelope assemblies
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce the three-week look-ahead schedule for finishes and shell activities in coordination with the overall project schedule
  • Manage and coordinate multiple specialty subcontractors simultaneously, holding daily and weekly alignment meetings to drive accountability
  • Enforce rigorous quality control standards; conduct daily inspections and document non-conformances with timely corrective action
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager, MEP superintendent, and owner's representatives to resolve conflicts, sequence work, and protect float in the master schedule
  • Manage and log all project safety requirements in finishes areas: enforce OSHA standards, conduct toolbox talks, and lead incident-free operations
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and material samples relevant to finish scopes; coordinate approvals with the project team
  • Lead punch list generation and closeout activities, ensuring all deficiencies are resolved to the standard required for Substantial and Final Completion
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents and field personnel within the finishes team
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and photographic documentation throughout the finish phase

    Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of field construction experience with at least 5 years in a superintendent role focused on interior finishes and/or shell construction
  • Demonstrated experience managing drywall, plaster, EIFS, painting, flooring, ceiling, and millwork subcontractors on projects exceeding $20M in total value
  • Deep working knowledge of building envelope systems, waterproofing details, and exterior wall assemblies
  • Proficiency with project scheduling tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Procore scheduling) and construction management software (Procore preferred)
  • OSHA 30 certification required; First Aid/CPR preferred
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and finish specifications with a keen eye for detail and constructability
  • Proven track record managing subcontractors in a fast-paced, concurrent-trade environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to effectively manage relationships with owners, design professionals, and subcontractors
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered

    What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary: $150,000 – $200,000 DOE
  • Comprehensive group health, dental, and vision insurance with family coverage options
  • Employer-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability
  • Supplemental income replacement and health programs through Colonial
  • 401(k) savings plan with employer match
  • Market-competitive paid time off including vacation, personal/sick days, and holidays
  • Educational assistance program and formal/informal training & development courses
  • Mentoring programs and clearly defined career advancement paths
  • A collaborative, family-operated culture built around the success of every Associate
