Commercial Construction Superintendent

Our client is a well-established commercial general contractor with approximately 160 employees and annual revenue of roughly $280M. The company delivers both ground-up construction and interior projects across healthcare, life sciences, multifamily, education, hospitality, office, retail, industrial, and commercial interiors sectors throughout the DC Metro region. Job Description

  • Lead all on-site construction activities from project startup through closeout.
  • Manage subcontractors, field personnel, site logistics, project schedules, quality control, and safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Drive daily field operations on ground-up construction and interior fit-out projects.
  • Proactively identify challenges and implement solutions to maintain project progress.
  • The Superintendent will oversee multiple trades and ensure effective coordination across all phases of construction.
  • The Superintendent will maintain strong communication with all project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experienced Superintendents will have opportunities to work on complex projects ranging from $20M+ new construction assignments to sophisticated interior renovations.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience as a Superintendent within commercial construction.
  • Experience managing ground-up construction
  • Strong leadership and subcontractor management capabilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Thorough understanding of construction safety and quality control practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience within healthcare, education, life sciences, hospitality, office, multifamily, industrial, retail, or commercial interiors projects is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented and relationship-driven environment.
  • Motivated to grow professionally through training, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities.
