District Highlights:

Herscher CUSD #2 has a PREK-12 enrollment of approximately 1645 students. It is located in Kankakee county. Herscher School District serves students at Bonfield Elementary, Herscher Intermediate, Limestone Middle School, and Herscher High School

• Long tradition of academic excellence with a dedicated focus on educating the whole child
• Well-rounded curricular offerings with numerous educational opportunities for the students served
• New construction of Herscher Intermediate School (Grades 2-4) anticipated to be completed Fall, 2027
• Committed staff dedicated to the well-being of each and every student served
• Variety of extra-curricular activities offered to students as well as updated facilities and/or complex
• Strong technology offerings for all students, including virtual high school courses available for additional classwork and credit
• District is fiscally sound and is at 101.8% Adequacy Funding Level
• Each school in the District has been identified as commendable and has a long-standing reputation of a high performing school system
• District is a long-time member of the Kankakee Area Career Center, offering additional programs such as aviation, cybersecurity, welding, automotive, and many more specialized offerings
• The district has a strong history of fiscal responsibility as well as a commitment to improving the educational opportunities for all students served
• District currently boasts an average small class size of 16 students per classroom
• The community is extremely proud of their school system as it represents a close-knit feel in a rural setting

• Total Staff: 194 - 119 teachers (44% have Masters or Higher)
• Impressive Annual Retention Rate of nearly 90%
