Overview
Electrical Works is seeking a skilled Electrical Superintendent to oversee our construction crews and manage multiple projects from the field. This supervisory role is responsible for day-to-day operations, coordinating crews, supporting project scheduling and budgets, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining quality standards. The Superintendent acts as the primary link between Project Managers and field personnel, ensuring that projects progress efficiently, safely, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead electrical construction crews on multiple projects
- Support Project Managers by providing field updates, tracking crew progress, and reporting on project status, production, and any issues affecting schedule or budget.
- Communicate regularly with Foremen to ensure work aligns with schedule, staffing, and material needs
- Oversee the installation of underground electrical utility systems, ensuring compliance with company standards and electrical codes
- Conduct site inspections for safety, OSHA compliance, quality, and progress
- Coordinate and facilitate material and equipment requests to maintain project flow
- Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation
- Mentor field personnel, provide guidance, and enforce best practices
- Identify and resolve field execution issues, constructability challenges, and workflow bottlenecks
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience supervising commercial or large site development electrical projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Underground utility experience preferred
- Equipment operating experience a plus
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license a plus
- Ability to travel to project sites as required
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain during site inspections
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs (plans, tools, equipment, samples)
- Ability to observe and respond to job site hazards, including moving equipment, vehicles, and active construction areas
- Use of hands and arms for documentation, digital devices, and coordination tasks
- Ability to sit for extended periods during meetings or office tasks
Work Environment
- Frequent work on active construction sites and in office environments
- Exposure to weather conditions, noise, dust, and construction activity during site visits
- Must be able to see, hear, and respond to safety hazards and project requirements
- Travel to multiple project sites may be required
Schedule & Endurance
- Ability to work standard workweek with extended hours, weekends, and travel as needed to meet project demands
- Maintain mental and physical stamina for supervising crews, conducting inspections, and completing project reporting
