A premier marine and heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead and oversee field operations across complex waterfront and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for driving execution, managing crews, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings a strong hands-on background in marine or heavy civil construction and has proven experience running projects independently from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily field operations across marine and heavy civil projects
  • Manage crews typically ranging from 3 to 15+ personnel
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients to ensure alignment with project goals
  • Plan work, maintain production, and adjust to changing field conditions in real time
  • Maintain jobsite safety as the top priority and enforce safety standards
  • Communicate regularly with project teams on production, sequencing, and schedule opportunities
  • Participate in progress meetings and represent the company professionally
  • Maintain daily reports including timekeeping, job logs, pile logs, and short-term schedules
  • Step in hands-on when needed to keep projects moving

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in marine or heavy civil construction
  • Strong, hands-on field background with proven project leadership experience
  • Ability to run projects independently from start to finish
  • Knowledge of pile driving, deep foundations, and marine construction methods
  • Experience working with barges, cranes, and marine equipment
  • Comfortable working in tidal environments, active waterways, and varying weather conditions
  • Familiarity with field technology including tablets, reporting, and daily logs
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Experience operating equipment, running boats, or working with cranes is a plus
