About Us

We are a regionally and nationally recognized top-tier general contractor with over four decades of experience delivering complex construction projects across Nevada and the Mountain West. Locally operated and community-rooted, we are proud of a culture that puts people before projects. Our core values — Honesty and Integrity, Responsibility and Accountability, Mutual Trust and Respect, Consistent Performance Through Teamwork, and Opportunities for Our Clients and Associates to Achieve Their Goals — guide everything we do. We are currently expanding our Northern Nevada team and are seeking exceptional construction professionals to grow with us.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP/CSA Superintendent to provide unified field oversight across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as well as civil, structural, and architectural scopes on complex commercial and institutional construction projects throughout Northern Nevada. This role is rare: it requires someone who can fluently navigate underground utilities, structural concrete and steel, architectural finishes, and complex building systems — all while coordinating dozens of specialty subcontractors and maintaining schedule and quality integrity. The ideal candidate brings deep cross-discipline knowledge gained from years on major GC projects and thrives in a high-coordination, fast-paced environment. You will be the primary field authority on these combined scopes and the critical link between design, engineering, and field execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field coordination and supervision across MEP scopes (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, low-voltage) and CSA scopes (civil site work, structural concrete/steel, and architectural systems) simultaneously
  • Develop and maintain a fully integrated look-ahead schedule that reflects MEP rough-in, structural sequencing, civil completion milestones, and architectural handoffs — coordinating directly with the Project Manager and project scheduler
  • Manage MEP subcontractors through BIM/3D coordination meetings; identify and resolve clashes before they reach the field; hold subcontractors accountable for timely clash resolution and RFI submission
  • Direct civil scope execution including mass grading, underground utilities (wet/dry), paving, and site concrete to achieve civil milestones that enable structural and building progress
  • Oversee structural steel erection, concrete placement (foundations, SOG, elevated decks, tilt-up), and post-tension systems in coordination with the structural engineer's representatives
  • Serve as the field liaison with the architect, structural engineer, civil engineer, and MEP design engineers during construction — triaging RFIs, ASIs, and design changes for efficient field resolution
  • Enforce safety compliance for all MEP, civil, and structural work; conduct daily safety walks in high-risk areas including excavation, crane operations, and energized systems
  • Manage commissioning and startup activities for mechanical and electrical systems, coordinating with owner's commissioning agents, TAB contractors, and equipment manufacturers
  • Coordinate utility connections, meter sets, and final inspections with local utility companies and AHJ inspectors
  • Maintain daily logs, inspection records, and photographic documentation across all supervised scopes
  • Mentor junior superintendents and field staff; model high standards of professionalism and technical competence

    Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of field construction experience with demonstrated, hands-on oversight of both MEP and CSA scopes on complex commercial, institutional, or industrial GC projects
  • Proven ability to manage MEP systems coordination (BIM/clash detection), oversee structural concrete and steel, and direct civil site construction — not just awareness of these disciplines, but accountable field management
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems design principles, structural drawings and shop drawings, and civil/grading plans
  • Experience with commissioning processes, AHJ inspections, and final utility coordination
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools (P6 or MS Project); experience with BIM coordination software (Navisworks or equivalent)
  • OSHA 30 certification required; Confined Space, Crane Signaling, and/or Competent Person certifications preferred
  • Ability to manage and communicate across large, multi-trade subcontractor teams while maintaining project pace and quality
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; significant field experience in lieu of degree will be considered
  • Nevada contractor or trade license not required, but familiarity with Nevada AHJ processes and IBC/NEC codes is strongly preferred

    What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary: $150,000 – $200,000 DOE
  • Comprehensive group health, dental, and vision insurance with family coverage options
  • Employer-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability
  • Supplemental income replacement and health programs through Colonial
  • 401(k) savings plan with employer match
  • Market-competitive paid time off including vacation, personal/sick days, and holidays
  • Educational assistance program and formal/informal training & development courses
  • Mentoring programs and clearly defined career advancement paths
  • A collaborative, family-operated culture built around the success of every Associate
