Overview: The Operations Superintendent will lead the Terminal in executing product movements. These movements may start or end at an above ground storage tank, marine vessel, tank truck, or pipeline and can also involve various air pollution control devices, leak detection, and waste control protocols. Kinder Morgan Curtis Bay is a continuous operation that conducts liquid product movements 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This job is subject to regulation by various agencies including the Department of Transportation (DOT) and US Coast Guard. Responsibilities:

 

  • Assuring the safety of workforce and safekeeping of customer product.
  • Developing, implementing, and assuring compliance with company policies and procedure.
  • Assuring compliance with governmental regulations, i.e.; EPA , DOT, MDE, US Coast Guard, etc.
  • Managing the terminal’s operating expenses efficiently and responsibly.
  • Assisting in the planning and administration of the facility’s human resources policies and programs, Including: job requisitions, interviewing, hiring, etc.
  • Ensure organization is operating in compliance with union and commercial contracts.
  • Managing and developing employees through a defined performance management program; i.e., reward & recognition, corrective actions as required.
  • Oversee the execution of the department’s training program.
  • Development of operators through training coaching and mentoring.
  • Assuring customer product quality is maintained through lab services direction.
  • Coordinating with Customer Service, Finance, Maintenance, and Engineering departments; i.e., follow up on work orders, work processes, product inventory, invoice approval etc.
  • Maintaining communications with customers concerning their operational needs and inquiries.
  • Assisting the Commercial group in managing customer relationships including new business, contract renewals, expansion of current business, and business review management.
  • Assuring quality and reliability of the associated IT, operational, and pipeline systems..
  • Making wage increase recommendations in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
  • Managing and monitoring manpower/vacations.
  • Monitoring /Reviewing OT to ensure compliance with operational requirement and the budget.
  • Operational experience including 5 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill set

  • Min Base Salary $78,200 Max Base Salary 117,300
