Job Description: Superintendent – Orange County Public Schools

Position Overview

Sunshine Enterprise USA is conducting an executive search for the Superintendent of Orange County Public Schools (OCPS). This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced K-12 education professional who can provide strategic direction, strengthen student outcomes, engage the community, and lead a large and diverse school district.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the school district.
  
• Develop and execute district-wide educational and operational strategies.
  
• Drive continuous improvement in student achievement and academic outcomes.
  
• Lead and support principals, administrators, teachers, and district personnel.
  
• Manage district operations, budgets, resources, and long-term planning.
  
• Build strong relationships with students, families, educators, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
  
• Promote an inclusive, student-centered culture across the district.
  
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local education requirements.
  
• Work collaboratively with the School Board on district priorities and initiatives.
  
• Represent the district effectively with community and governmental stakeholders.
  
• Lead organizational change and support innovation in K-12 education.
  

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Public Administration, or a related field preferred/required based on applicable district requirements.
  
• Significant senior-level leadership experience in K-12 education.
  
• Proven experience managing complex educational organizations or large school systems.
  
• Strong understanding of curriculum, instruction, student achievement, and school improvement.
  
• Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational leadership.
  
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and community engagement skills.
  
• Strong record of ethical leadership and accountability.
  
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student, employee, and community population.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Chief Academic Officer, Principal, or comparable senior K-12 leadership role.
  
• Experience leading large or diverse school districts.
  
• Experience working with a public school board and community stakeholders.
  
• Knowledge of Florida K-12 education policies and regulations.
