Superintendent - Structural Steel Construction

TRC's client, a well-established commercial construction company, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead structural steel erection and construction activities from project kickoff through completion. Key Responsibilities

As the Superintendent, you will:

• Manage and supervise all on-site construction and steel erection activities from project start through completion.

• Lead field crews, subcontractors, vendors, crane operators, and equipment providers.

• Coordinate material deliveries, staging, and overall site logistics.

• Oversee structural steel erection activities to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

• Monitor project schedules and proactively address delays, conflicts, and field challenges.

• Partner closely with Project Managers, General Contractors, Engineers, Fabricators, and other stakeholders.

• Drive a strong safety culture by enforcing OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

• Conduct daily site inspections, safety meetings, and toolbox talks.

• Review construction drawings, shop drawings, erection plans, and specifications to ensure quality execution.

• Manage crane operations, equipment utilization, work sequencing, and site coordination to maintain project progress.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Superintendent, Steel Superintendent, General Superintendent, or similar construction leadership role.

• Extensive experience overseeing structural steel erection projects.

• Experience managing steel erection crews, subcontractors, cranes, rigging operations, and heavy equipment.

• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and steel erection safety requirements.

• Ability to interpret structural steel drawings, shop drawings, erection plans, specifications, and construction documents.

• Experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, data center, or similar construction projects.

• Strong understanding of project scheduling, sequencing, site logistics, and field operations.

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience overseeing complex, multi-phase structural steel projects.

• Prior experience working on large commercial, industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or data center developments.

• Advanced expertise coordinating crane operations, rigging activities, and major steel erection efforts.

• Demonstrated success leading high-performing field teams in fast-paced construction environments.
