The Public Superintendent will oversee day-to-day field operations for a $9M ground-up school addition project in New Jersey, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and quality execution. This role requires immediate on-site leadership and will play a key part in delivering public-sector construction projects across North and Central New Jersey.

Client Details

Our client is a well-established General Contractor headquartered in Morristown, NJ. They specialize in public-sector construction, delivering projects for municipalities, schools, colleges, housing authorities, and community facilities, typically ranging from $1M to $10M, with a strong portfolio of renovations and select ground-up/addition builds.

Description

  • Site Supervision: Lead all on-site construction activities for a $7M public school addition project currently in progress
  • Schedule Management: Coordinate subcontractors, sitework, and utilities to ensure efficient workflow and timeline adherence
  • Documentation: Maintain project schedule, manage daily logs, and track progress using Procore
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with local/state regulations and public project requirements
  • Team Leadership: Collaborate closely with Project Managers, General Manager, and stakeholders to resolve issues proactively
  • Quality Control: Oversee quality control and inspections, ensuring work meets design specifications and public standards

Profile

  • Demonstrated experience managing ground-up public construction projects
  • Strong background in sitework and utilities (preferred)
  • Proficient with Procore
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage schedules, and drive project delivery under tight timelines
  • Based within commuting distance to Morristown, NJ or willing to travel locally for projects
