The position is primarily field-based across Northern Virginia, with occasional reporting to the office in Reston, VA as needed.

The superintendent regularly interacts with project owners, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal project teams, and uses standard construction documentation and scheduling tools to manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, and daily reports.

Job Title: Construction Superintendent Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Construction Superintendent to lead commercial interior OneLife projects in the DC market. The role involves overseeing the Prince William County Schools Welcome Center project, ensuring the successful execution of construction activities. The position is based out of Reston, VA, with occasional reporting to the office. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day field activities to ensure project milestones and overall schedule completion are met. Create short-interval look-ahead project schedules to ensure upcoming events are communicated and attended to proactively. Cultivate a culture that values safety, health, and cleanliness. Coordinate and oversee work to ensure it is completed orderly, consistent with contract standards. Verify all work is installed in a workmanlike manner (plumb, level, straight, etc.). Obtain all inspections and document quality aspects of physical work. Ensure project compliance with contract terms and legal requirements. Administer client-specific programs, such as CQC, Safety, and Environmental Stewardship. Conduct and participate in pre-construction, progress, and other project and staff meetings. Meet regularly with client representatives to discuss project status and resolve issues. Manage project scope changes to ensure up-to-date contract documents are used. Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, ensuring terms and conditions are met. Manage punch list and project closeout process for timely completion. Maintain daily paperwork such as timecards, field reports, and schedule updates. Essential Skills 5+ years of superintendent experience, with at least 3 to 5 years on ground-up commercial construction projects. Experience managing projects valued at $30 million or more. Proficient in RFIs, submittals, and running projects from start to finish with a general contractor. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in commercial, interior, renovation, construction, and fit-out projects. Knowledge of school and higher education construction projects. Work Environment The work environment is team-focused and highly collaborative. The office is located in Reston, VA, with project work extending throughout Northern Virginia following the completion of the 18-month project based in Manassas.
