Building And Construction Superintendent

In this Building and Construction Superintendent role in Rochester, NY you will:

• Lead all day-to-day field operations on assigned projects
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and onsite personnel
• Maintain project schedules and ensure milestone completion
• Monitor project quality and ensure adherence to plans and specifications
• Enforce safety standards and company policies across the jobsite
• Conduct daily site meetings and subcontractor coordination meetings
• Manage project logistics, site access, and material deliveries
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively
• Communicate regularly with Project Managers and project stakeholders
• Maintain daily reports, site documentation, and progress tracking
• Oversee punch-list completion and project closeout activities

A successful Building and Construction Superintendent in Rochester, NY should have:

• 5+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction
• Proven success managing projects from groundbreaking through completion
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in the field before moving into management
• Previous masonry experience
• A career progression from tradesperson, mason, foreman, or similar field role into a Superintendent position
• Significant multi-family construction experience
• Experience on apartment, mixed-use, residential, or multi-family developments
• Stable employment history with respected construction firms
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and quality control
