Butterfly Staffing is seeking an experienced Superintendent to support federal healthcare renovation projects in Salem, VA. This role will oversee daily field operations on occupied facility renovations, including HVAC/mechanical upgrades and phased construction activities within an active hospital environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing subcontractors, coordinating schedules, maintaining safety compliance, and working directly with project management and government representatives on commercial or federal construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations and subcontractor activities
- Coordinate project schedules, manpower, material deliveries, and inspections
- Manage phased renovations within occupied healthcare facilities
- Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and per project specifications
- Coordinate with project management, QC staff, subcontractors, and government personnel
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and sequencing of work
- Conduct daily site walks and maintain project documentation/reporting
- Assist with project turnover, punch list, and closeout activities
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial or federal construction
- Experience on VA, USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, or other government projects preferred
- Healthcare or occupied renovation experience strongly preferred
- HVAC/mechanical renovation experience is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Strong communication and subcontractor coordination skills
Certifications
- OSHA 30
- EM 385-1-1 familiarity
- CPR/First Aid
- RMS/QCS familiarity preferred
