Job Description
The responsibilities of a Superintendent:
- Lead daily field operations on large ground-up and renovation construction projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders
- Maintain project schedules and proactively address field challenges
- Enforce site safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies
- Monitor quality control throughout all phases of construction
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and project teams to achieve project goals
- Manage project documentation, inspections, and turnover activities
- Drive projects to successful completion while maintaining client satisfaction
- Support and mentor field staff, including Assistant Superintendents
- Participate in project planning, logistics, and site coordination efforts

The Successful Applicant
A successful Superintendent should have:
- Experience as a Superintendent or high-level Assistant Superintendent within commercial construction
- Ground-up construction experience preferred
- Prior experience on K-12, higher education, municipal, commercial, or institutional projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics
- Ability to lead subcontractors and manage multiple priorities in the field
- Proven commitment to safety and quality standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work on projects throughout Northern Virginia or Maryland, depending on assignment
