Superintendent

Superintendent to oversee and manage field operations for complex site development, landscaping, utility, excavation, and civil construction projects throughout New Jersey. This individual will serve as the on-site leader, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while coordinating subcontractors, crews, clients, and project management teams.

Description

• Oversee daily field operations on site development, landscaping, utility, excavation, and civil construction projects.
• Lead, coordinate, and manage field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and equipment resources.
• Develop and execute project work plans in collaboration with Project Managers.
• Monitor project schedules, workforce productivity, and resource allocation to ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Coordinate work sequencing and proactively resolve field challenges to maintain project progress.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety standards through daily meetings, inspections, and safe work practices.
• Investigate incidents, document findings, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and verify materials, installations, and workmanship meet project requirements.
• Serve as the primary on-site liaison for owners, engineers, inspectors, clients, and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate inspections, testing activities, and permit compliance requirements.
• Provide regular progress updates and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Monitor labor, equipment, material utilization, and overall project costs.
• Assist with manpower planning, equipment forecasting, and production tracking.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and project performance.
• Support budget management, cost control efforts, and change order documentation.

Profile

• 10+ years of Superintendent experience within civil construction, site development, utility construction, excavation, landscaping, or heavy construction.
• Proven experience managing crews and subcontractors on complex construction projects.
• Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, roadwork, landscaping, and site development operations.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
• Experience coordinating inspections and working with engineers, municipalities, and owners.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software and reporting tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
