This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial Superintendent who enjoys fast-paced, technically challenging projects and prefers the variety of Special Projects work over long-duration ground-up construction. The Special Projects Group focuses on commercial Tenant Improvement and renovation projects typically valued at $10M and under. Projects generally run approximately 16 weeks, creating an environment where schedules move quickly, decisions need to be made in real time, and strong field leadership is critical. The group works across a diverse portfolio of industries, including:AerospaceRetailAdvanced Technology / Fuel CellOccupied FacilitiesCampus ImprovementsOther specialized commercial interiors and renovationsThe ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing this type of fast-paced commercial work and will be comfortable taking ownership of field operations from mobilization through closeout.Job DescriptionLead daily field operations from project mobilization through completion.Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and multiple trades.Develop and maintain short-term and overall project schedules.Run daily meetings and coordinate upcoming activities.Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule issues.Work closely with the Project Manager to resolve field issues.Coordinate construction activities within occupied facilities and active environments.Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and jobsite organization.Communicate directly with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.Review plans and specifications and identify conflicts or constructability concerns.Track manpower, production, and project progress.Coordinate inspections and project milestones.Manage punch list and project closeout activities.Because these projects typically run approximately 16 weeks, the Superintendent must be highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
