Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee the construction of a new safety training complex in South Lake Tahoe. This ground-up project includes owner-furnished, contractor-installed prefabricated equipment storage facilities and significant site improvements, including:
  • Tarmac area construction
  • Water storage tank and pump station
  • Collection system installation
  • Parking area development
  • New bike path connecting the site to the existing campus infrastructure
Position Summary
The Superintendent will be responsible for the day-to-day management of field operations, ensuring the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. This individual will coordinate subcontractors, manage site logistics, maintain project schedules, and serve as the primary field leader throughout construction.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all on-site construction activities from project start through completion
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
  • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term project schedules
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company safety standards
  • Conduct daily site meetings and coordinate project activities
  • Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively
  • Maintain project documentation, reports, and daily logs
  • Collaborate with project management, owners, inspectors, and design teams
  • Ensure adherence to project budgets and schedule milestones
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
  • Proven experience managing field operations on ground-up construction projects
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, and site coordination
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors
