Position Summary
The Supervising Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing all pharmacy operations in compliance with Alabama Board of Pharmacy regulations. This role ensures accurate dispensing, regulatory adherence, audit readiness, inventory management, and effective workflow execution. The Supervising Pharmacist provides leadership across a multidisciplinary team and maintains high operational standards with minimal oversight.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Regulatory Oversight — Serve as the designated Supervising Pharmacist in accordance with Alabama Board of Pharmacy rules and statutes; ensure full compliance with state and federal laws.
Licensure & Credentialing Management — Maintain current pharmacy permits, pharmacist licenses, technician registrations, and all credentialing documentation; ensure timely renewals and accuracy.
Operational Independence — Work autonomously, identifying and completing required tasks without supervisory prompting.
Audit Preparation & Documentation — Maintain complete, accurate, and organized records to support favorable audit outcomes and minimize recoupment risk.
Technology Utilization — Operate the RX30 Pharmacy Operating System efficiently; prior experience preferred.
Workflow & Program Implementation — Develop, implement, and manage new systems such as medication packaging programs for group homes or residential communities; optimize processes and adjust workflows as needed.
Inventory Management — Oversee multiple inventories, maintain accurate counts, and prepare monthly inventory reports.
High‑Cost Medication Stewardship — Ensure availability of necessary high‑cost medications while minimizing excess stock and controlling financial exposure.
Team Collaboration — Work effectively with pharmacists, technicians, administrative staff, and other personnel with diverse responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a Supervising Pharmacist or pharmacy manager
Experience with medication packaging systems for group homes or similar settings
Proficiency with RX30 Pharmacy Operating System
Experience managing high‑cost or specialty medication inventories
Education & Licensing Requirements
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
Active, unrestricted Alabama Pharmacist License
Must meet all requirements to serve as Supervising Pharmacist under Alabama Board of Pharmacy regulations
Working Conditions
Full‑time, on‑site role - M-F 8-5
Requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs
Occasional extended hours based on operational needs
