Description
Position Summary
The 2nd shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations on 2nd shift to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production within a regulated medical device environment. This role leads a team of production employees, drives continuous improvement, and ensures adherence to quality systems, regulatory requirements, and company standards at IPG Medical.
Production Operations
Supervise and coordinate daily 2nd shift production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets
Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and production schedules to ensure optimal efficiency
Identify and resolve production issues in real time to minimize downtime
Ensure proper use of equipment, tools, and materials
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a team of production associates, technicians, and/or operators
Conduct performance management activities including feedback, coaching, and evaluations
Schedule staffing to meet production needs, including overtime planning as necessary
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Quality & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to FDA, ISO, GMP, and other regulatory requirements
Maintain compliance with IPG Medical quality systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Support audits (internal and external) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
Ensure documentation accuracy and completeness
Safety
Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures
Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
Continuous Improvement
Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives and process improvements
Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, efficiency, scrap, and downtime
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
