Description

The Supervisor of Advanced Practice oversees a group of APP's across multiple service lines. This APP establishes a protocol or agreement with physician(s) to assure the highest standard of care. The APP is competent in medical diagnosis, treatment, ordering & prescribing of medications, etc. Works directly with staff, administration, operational leadership, physicians, patients and families to coordinate patient care and ensure the highest quality of care across the continuum as an expert in selected practice areas. Will integrate current knowledge of professional issues, trends in health care and technological advances into their scope of practice. The APP Supervisor will demonstrate proven leadership skills and competencies to implement successful team development and management. Committed to maximizing team/individual performance through coaching and facilitating individual members of the team. Participates in shared governance within the department. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Supports the mission and vision of BHSF, and the Advanced Practice Providers Team. Clinical and/or surgical coverage (if Hospital credentialed) may be required as per specialty specific needs. Estimated salary range for this position is $137846.35 - $183335.65 / year depending on experience.

Qualifications

Degrees:

  • Masters.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration.
  • Physician Assistant.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 5 years or more as an APRN or PA-C.
  • Florida Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Licensed Physician Assistant.
  • Must comply with state of Florida requirement for CME and licensure renewal.
  • ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support required as per specialty/function.
  • DEA-Drug Enforcement Administration License required as per specialty/function.
  • If APRN requires hospital inpatient medical staff privileges and does not have an acute care certification, refer to BHSF Policy 701 titled Educational and training requirements to be credentialed to work in an acute care setting for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
