Primary Purpose Supervises the repair and maintenance of the buildings & grounds on the main campus, ensuring the facilities are safe and well preserved.
Minimum Specifications
Education
Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience
Must have six (6) years of general maintenance experience.
Prefers previous supervisory experience or experience in Lead role.
Prefer experience in a complex healthcare environment.

Certification/Registration/Licensure
Must have a Texas Class C Driver's License.

Must have a thorough knowledge of various facility construction and maintenance techniques.
Must be able to read construction drawings and specifications for building maintenance.
Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills.
Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to demonstrate effective supervisory skills and techniques.
Must be physically able to lift heavy loads, walk, stand for extended periods, and climb ladders.
Responsibilities
Selects, trains, schedules, motivates, supervises, and evaluates employees, making recommendations for disciplinary actions up to and including termination, to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge.
Supervises the repair and maintenance of Parkland buildings & grounds by communicating with the staff concerning repair and maintenance needs. Evaluates the needs, determines the personnel and materials required to complete the job, and prioritizes the work assignments, coordinating activities to ensure a timely and proper completion.
Monitors the material stock in the shop and orders necessary materials as needed. Ensures proper inventory is available for effective departmental operations. Maintains inventory records of hospital equipment and tools, ensuring accuracy.
Assists with developing, implementing, monitoring, and revising annual goals and objectives for the Building & Grounds repair & maintenance area, that support the missions and objectives of Parkland.
Maintains a positive working relationship with management, vendors, and other hospital employees, in order to ensure effective departmental operations.
Monitors annual budgets to ensure the Building & Grounds repair and maintenance area has the necessary funds to carry out the goals and objectives that have been established for the department.
