Provide leadership to the outpatient echo and vascular sonographer team by holding team meetings and rounding on each staff member monthly. Optimize use of sonographer team and existing ultrasound machines to achieve maximized echo and vascular schedule volume at each site of business while accounting for testing lag time.
The Supervisor of Cardiac Sonography is part of the leadership team who oversees the day-to-day operations of the department including team member management, workflows, and equipment management related to improving study quality, equipment inventory/maintenance, and technical support. The supervisor is responsible for balancing team member schedules, editing timecards, and approving payroll along with participating in team member recruitment, interviews, and hiring. The supervisor works with the Cardiac Sonography Manager and collaborates with other departments to drive departmental and organizational initiatives, metrics, and growth while providing positive, high quality patient experience.
Oversees and manages team member schedules, vacations, assignments, timecards, competencies, and certifications to align with organizational policies, regulatory requirements and accreditation. Collaborates with nursing, institute, and physician leadership to drive departmental and organizational initiatives, metrics, and growth.Partners with vendors and clinical engineering to ensure optimal functionality of equipment fleetParticipates in the screening, interviewing, and hiring of new team members.Participates in process improvements to enhance workflows, accountability, and care delivery.Works with department and physician leadership to maintain accreditation. Performs echo and vascular patient studies when required.Covers on-call shifts when needed.
Bachelor's degree Preferred
Completion of certification program resulting in Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
