_Reports to: Nursing Director, Cardiac Services_


Position Summary:

The Supervisor of the Cardiovascular Lab provides daily operational oversight and administrative leadership for the Cardiovascular Lab, delivering both inpatient and outpatient cardiology services. This role is responsible for supervising and evaluating staff in the ECG, ECHO, and administrative support teams, ensuring alignment with medical center policies, procedures, and clinical standards.


Key Responsibilities:


+ Provide managerial and clinical oversight for all cardiology lab functions, including ECG, ECHO, and support services.

+ Supervise, evaluate, and support staff performance and development, ensuring high-quality patient care and team collaboration.

+ Coordinate and facilitate staff education, including general orientation and ongoing training in ECG and ECHO procedures.

+ Serve as System Administrator for ECHO and EKG systems, ensuring functionality, data integrity, and staff access.

+ Teach and present at ECHO conferences to promote continuous improvement in clinical performance.

+ Collaborate with the Cardiac Services Director and Medical Director on quality assurance, program development, and educational initiatives.

+ Coordinate Pediatric Cardiac Clinics, working closely with physicians and supporting the needs of patients and families.

+ Actively support the mission, core values, and strategic goals of the organization, including the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:


+ Minimum five (5) years of acute care experience in all aspects of echocardiography.

+ Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or completion of an AMA-approved Cardiovascular Technology program with certificate.

+ Registered through an approved ICAEL agency.

+ Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.

+ Solid theoretical foundation in:

+ Basic electronics

+ Hemodynamic measurements

+ Exercise stress testing

+ Cardiac Sonography

+ Transesophageal Echocardiography (adult and pediatric)

+ Echocardiographic stress testing


Preferred Qualifications:


+ EKG experience.

+ EKG Certification.

+ Membership in a national organization for Cardiovascular Technologists is highly desirable.
