Washington College invites applications for the position of Supervisor, Central Services and Campus Apparel. Based in the Casey Academic Center, this role is ideal for a highly organized, customer-focused professional who enjoys working in a dynamic campus setting. The Supervisor helps deliver an outstanding service experience while supporting campus merchandise sales, inventory operations, package and mail services, and the supervision of student employees. What You'll do
- Support the daily operations of Central Services and Campus Apparel, including customer service, service window coverage, and opening and closing procedures.
- Manage apparel and merchandise receiving, stocking, display presentation, inventory tracking, and point-of-sale activity.
- Assist with package and mail services, customer pickups, departmental requests, and routine operational recordkeeping.
- Assist with print job processing and distribution.
- Supervise, train, and schedule student employees while providing day-to-day leadership and support.
- Help plan promotions, seasonal merchandising, and sales opportunities connected to campus events and programs.
What You’ll Bring
- Two to four years of experience in retail, customer service, campus services, or a related setting.
- Experience supervising staff or student employees, along with knowledge of inventory practices and cash handling.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, and visitors.
- Comfort with standard office technology and point-of-sale systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a college bookstore, campus retail setting, mail/package center, or a similar higher education environment.
- Knowledge of branded merchandise, promotional planning, and student-facing service operations.
Schedule and Physical Requirements
This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and special events during peak periods of the academic year is expected.
