Overview:

 We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor. The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the department, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant laboratory testing that directly supports patient diagnosis and treatment. 

 

Shifts Available: Days 

Employment Type: Full-Time 

Hours: 8-hour shifts 

Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): 

  • Lead the Laboratory staff, including medical technologists, laboratory technicians, and support personnel, responsible for scheduling, competency assessments, training, and performance evaluations 
  • Oversee complex testing procedures, ensuring accurate analysis of patient specimens including blood, body fluids, cultures, and molecular testing in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards 
  • Implement and monitor quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) programs to ensure reliability, precision, and accuracy of test results across all chemistry and microbiology platforms 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards including CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and other governing agencies 
  • Supervise instrument maintenance, calibration, validation, and troubleshooting for chemistry analyzers and microbiology equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime 
  • Address operational challenges including workflow efficiency, staffing coverage, regulatory updates, and continuous process improvement initiatives 
Qualifications:

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

 

  • ASCP certification, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience required
  •  Bachelor’s or associate degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1461).
  • Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
