UMB's bottom line is directly impacted by the growth of our commercial loan portfolio and revenue generating lines of business in Treasury Management and Commercial Card. The team consists of Commercial Relationship Managers, Treasury/Card Sales Officers, Account Executives, and Implementation Specialists.   This team manages the commercial payments relationships throughout its life - developing meaningful connections with management of companies, government and non-profits they serve.  Always mindful of the changes in the company, its industry, etc., over time that might create a change in their financial service needs.

As a Supervisor Commercial Client Advisor, you will have the Commercial Card Client Advisor team as direct reports and be their point of escalation for client issues and will report directly to the Manager of Commercial Card Programs Service & Support. This role will also serve as a knowledge point for any day-to- day training and questions that come from the team. Will escalate any situations as needed to the Manager.

How you will spend your time:

  • Function as the subject matter expert and point of contact for the Commercial Client Advisor team.
  • Perform consultation, research, and recommend solutions for complex card program inquiries, issues and escalations to appropriate resolution.
  • Serve as the point of escalation that is available to the team for their immediate needs. If a client needs to speak to a manager or an employee needs assistance on how to work an item.
  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new hires. Responsible for keeping policies, process and procedure documents updated.
  • Track client issues & resolution, work with appropriate resources to ensure follow up and best practices with client and business partner(s).
  • Provide proactive communication with clients and internal business partners regarding all components of client experience and set best practice expectations.
  • Provide training and education to Commercial Client Advisor team and Business Partners on all program tools and best practices as needed through multiple communication channels including in person.
  • Handle PTO calendar, monthly and/or daily assignments for the Commercial Client Advisor team.
  • Conduct monthly 1-on-1s, Next 90 and team meetings for the Commercial Client Advisor team.
  • Participate in identification of process improvement and program growth opportunities through root cause analysis and program review.
  • Complete special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3+ years of credit card program or financial services experience.
  • Complex problem solving and ability to translate client needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify and solve routine technical and end user system tools issues
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple requests, concerns and problems in a professional manner requiring significant attention to detail
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, end-to-end ownership, drive for results in support of growing the business, with a focus on the client
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate with multiple levels of leadership and lines of business effectively and professionally
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills

Bonus points if:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration/Finance
  • 3+ years Client Relationship Management, Customer Service & Sales experience in a related field
  • Functional knowledge of credit card industry
  • Functional knowledge of Commercial Card programs, servicing and operations
  • Knowledge and understanding of online banking platforms including ACH, EFT, Wire Transfer, UMB Commercial Card, Commercial Card Center, and FIS
  • Exposure to ERP and basic accounting systems
  • Functional knowledge of credit card industry
  • Functional knowledge of Commercial Card programs, servicing and operations
  • Knowledge and understanding of online banking platforms including ACH, EFT, Wire Transfer, UMB Commercial Card, Commercial Card Center, and FIS
  • Exposure to ERP and basic accounting systems

Compensation Ranges:

US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York:

$62,310 - $90,760

US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin:

$56,890 - $83,080

US Employees in all other states not listed above:

$51,480 - $75,410
