The Akron Board of Education announces an opening for a Supervisor, Custodial Services, Job Code 074, Time Schedule 522 (260 Days), Salary Range: TBD. This is a School Employees Retirement System Position.

SUMMARY:
Assists with the supervision of the operations in the Custodial Services Department following the regulations/guidelines established for the Custodial Services Department as established by the Director of Facility Services. Assumes management responsibility for coordinating building cleanliness, maintenance of school grounds and ensures the safety of all school sites. Is accessible for emergency calls and assists with emerging responses during non-work hours, weekends, and holidays.
Secondary management duties include shared supervisory responsibilities for all Facility Services staff.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
Responsible to work cooperatively and effectively with members of the public, other employees, related public agency staff, community businesses and service providers; responsible for accurate and timely record keeping and reports as required; may be responsible to drive a motor vehicle with a valid Ohio operator''s license as required by the position; and may be required to travel, both within the school district and outside of the school district. Responsible to attend meetings, in-services and training programs as related to the position held. Employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to assist in the preparation, supervision and monitoring of the annual departmental budget. Basic understanding of mathematics, accounting, billing and invoicing procedures. Ability to gather, calculate and analyze data for purposes of vacation entitlements, overtime usage.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to identify and define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to utilize evaluation data to resolve personnel problems, safety concerns, evaluations and other issues concerning Board Policies and MOT Agreement language with costs and management rights.
