Facilities Supervisor Position Summary

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of facility systems and infrastructure. This role supervises maintenance personnel, coordinates contractor activities, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and supports the overall reliability and efficiency of facility operations. The Facilities Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for daily maintenance activities and assists in the execution of facility improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership

  • Supervise and support facilities technicians and maintenance personnel.
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and coverage to support facility operations.

Facility Maintenance

  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems.
  • Ensure facility assets are maintained to maximize reliability and lifespan.
  • Monitor facility conditions and proactively identify improvement opportunities.

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Coordinate and supervise contractors performing work on-site.
  • Verify contractor compliance with site safety and operational requirements.
  • Review completed work for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Assist with obtaining quotes and managing service agreements.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the department.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and safety audits.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company standards.
  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions as needed.

Work Order & CMMS Management

  • Manage daily work order activities through the CMMS system.
  • Ensure timely completion and documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Track key maintenance metrics and report performance trends.
  • Support development and optimization of preventive maintenance programs.

Project Support

  • Assist with facility improvement and capital projects.
  • Coordinate project activities with operations and contractors.
  • Support implementation and management of Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Participate in energy efficiency and cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6+ years of facilities, maintenance, or industrial operations experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
  • Experience managing contractors and service vendors.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS software.

Preferred

  • Associate''s or Bachelor''s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, pharmaceutical, or industrial environments.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
  • Trade certifications in HVAC, electrical, or maintenance disciplines.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, climb ladders, and access mechanical spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to respond to facility emergencies outside of normal business hours when required.
  • Supervise all warehouse operations to ensure that orders are selected, packaged, loaded, and dispatched safely, timely, and efficiently, and proper records are maintained. Functional areas of responsibility include all material and logistics functions required to manage warehouse operations. Typically, accountable for a single warehouse area.
