We're hiring a Supervisor, Histology to support both UPMC St. Margaret and UPMC Passavant. This role is based at UPMC St. Margaret as the home site and requires regular travel between both locations as needed.

Responsibilities:
• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate laboratory staff while promoting fairness, professionalism, and service excellence. • Provide day-to-day leadership through coaching, scheduling, delegation, performance management, and disciplinary action as needed. • Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, CAP, UPMC, and laboratory policies while maintaining a safe work environment. • Oversee laboratory operations, productivity, workflow, and quality assurance initiatives; identify issues and implement improvements. • Serve as a liaison to pathologists, customers, and other departments, providing feedback and resolving concerns. • Provide technical guidance on complex testing and operational issues. • Maintain procedure manuals and remain current on developments in laboratory science and management. • Participate in committees, work groups, and professional development activities.
Successful completion of NAACLS accredited HT program OR Associates degree OR 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry OR Bachelors degree with a combination of 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry.
6 years of clinical laboratory experience post-training if certified as an Histotechnician or 5 years of clinical laboratory experience post-training if certified as a Histotechnologist.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
