Job Summary

Responsible for providing supervision and direction to employees of a large department (over 50 employees) and/or guidance and support to peers and group leaders in similar or other departments in the areas of attainment of production goals, safety, training, employee relations, quality and housekeeping issues. Demonstrated leadership ability and willingness to accept increased responsibilities.

Essential Functions
  • Exercises supervision of all personnel assigned to his/her department ensuring that personnel are trained, achieve established production goals as established by the master schedule and perform their duties in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Upon direction of the Production Manager provides supervisors and group leaders with direction and guidance in the operation of their assigned departments/work groups.
  • Monitors work flow and investigates and initiates corrective actions needed to correct problems adversely impacting production. Ensures higher level Production Management, Materials and other departments impacted by problems of delays or changes to the production schedule.
  • Monitors the conduct of training ensuring all training records and required audits/re-certifications are maintained and/or conducted in accordance with appropriate SOP’s.
  • Insures that established policies, work rules, regulations and procedures are disseminated to and followed by employees.
  • Performs all required performance evaluations and provides counselling to employees on individual performance. Initiates performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions as well as salary actions to include merit increases and promotions.
  • Maintains a high degree of technical competency regarding the correct assembly/production of products assigned to his/her department.
  • Review departmental paperwork for correctness and compliance.
  • Conducts regular inspection of assigned work areas ensuring good housekeeping and safe working conditions are maintained.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required and
  • Associate's Degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of all equipment, tooling and processes utilized in the production of products built in the assigned area(s).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and communicate their intent to assigned personnel.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of personnel ranging from production employees to senior managers.

The annual salary for this position is:

$81,900.00 to $122,800.00
