Responsibilities:

On this role the Lab PAA/Phlebotomist Supervisor will perform the following job duties:

  • Delivers excellent patient centered service in a medical office setting by performing routine and advanced venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures.
  • Organizes and supervises the staff in the daily operation of the practice. Also responsible for resolving complaints, issues and patient relations.
  • Releases and/or places orders in electronic medical record and laboratory computer systems, receives, processes and distributes specimens and/or blood products and prepares samples for transport to other laboratories.
  • Responsible for answering telephones, checking-in patients and maintaining a comfortable wait experience for patients based on practice protocols and UF Health Physicians policies and procedures.

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm

Days: Monday-Friday

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Requires one year of recent phlebotomy experience (clinical or hospital based preferred).
  • In addition, one or more of the following is preferred:
    1. Graduation from a certified health-related program at high school level or above; OR
    2. Successful completion of Advanced Placement courses in the sciences at the high school level: OR
    3. Successful completion of science based studies at college level (minimum 3 credit hours). Prefer GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Must have computer operational skills using a personal computer, laboratory system or other hospital information system.
  • Applicant should display initiative, have the ability to multitask and be able to take on responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member is essential.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: None indicated

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver'
