Job Duties/Scope Of Work

This position is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of electricians within the Maintenance Electrical Service organization. This role may involve working a swing shift; however, all shifts are subject to change based on business needs.


Essential job duties associated with this position include:


- Assisting planners, engineers, and schedulers in planning and executing work efficiently.

- Managing and overseeing bargaining unit personnel to ensure timely and effective completion of scheduled maintenance activities.

- Coordinating all activities related to the assigned work scope with customer representatives.

- Recommending personnel actions for assigned staff in accordance with HMIS policies and procedures.


Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


- Planning and scheduling resources to meet work priorities effectively.

- Working directly with bargaining unit personnel in the field to maintain safe, continuous operations.

- Engaging and collaborating with operations and other stakeholders at all organizational levels.

- Managing personnel and allocating resources within budgetary constraints.

- Investigating and reporting all workplace events and incidents promptly.

- Ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

- Supporting the implementation and management of work packages and the overall work management process.

- Determining schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on priority, equipment availability, and personnel skill levels.

- Monitoring employees’ work levels, reviewing performance, and providing feedback.

- Recommending personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures as necessary.

- Conducting or coordinating worker training in safety protocols, repair and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, and equipment use.

- Performing other duties as assigned by management.


Basic Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED.

- Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance or electrical services, including leadership experience (i.e., Fieldwork Supervisor, Supervisor, Superintendent, General Foreman or Foreman).

- 5 years minimum as a journeyman level electrician (01).

- Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.

- Demonstrated ability to direct, manage and produce results.

- Must have previous experience in managing multiple crafts and be knowledgeable with a formal Lock and Tag and electrical safety procedure.

- Working knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 70 & 70E.

- Candidate must have the ability to operate a computer workstation and demonstrate basic computer skills/knowledge.

- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing, verbally, and interface effectively with all levels of management.

- Experience planning and scheduling work of operational employees.

- Prior experience in performing operational objectives as a Supervisor - OR - in a previous leadership role.

- Capable of understanding, assembling, and implementing workflows, work packages, sequences, processes, and best practices.


Desired Qualifications

- Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program.

- Excavation Competent Person

- Extensive Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.

- The ability to plan and execute electrical work, this includes drawings, ordering parts, and estimating time.

Grade 18: $109,013 - $137,538

Grade 19: $119,813 - $151,038

Grade 20: $131,888 - $166,263
