GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Coordinator of Maintenance, the position is responsible for planning and supervising the maintenance, repair, modification, installation and/or construction work performed in school buildings and facilities by the following trades: shades and blinds, tile/carpet, masonry, lock, glass, machinery repair, plumbing, electrical, electronics, HVAC, and doors. In addition, the position ensures compliance with state, federal, and local codes.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have an extensive knowledge of common practices, tools, terminology, and safety precautions of the associated trades and the use and characteristics of common building materials. Must have knowledge of associated trade methods and procedures. Must have the ability to work from sketches, drawings, plans, or specifications and estimate needed materials and time required for various jobs; ability to communicate the scope and requirement of projects to others; ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written skills; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates. Must have the ability to plan, organize and successfully complete multiple, unrelated simultaneous projects. Must be able to demonstrate sustained superior performance in the trade(s) with emphasis on thoroughness, dependability, and professionalism. Must have excellent organizational and leadership skills and be skilled in the use of a computer and associated software necessary to perform the job.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Graduate or GED required. Must have considerable experience in a related field and experience working in a supervisory role. A comparable amount of training and experience maybe substituted for the minimum qualifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Frequent sitting, walking, standing, bending, grasping, fingering, repetitive motion, reaching, and driving. Occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, fumes, gases, unpleasant odors, vibrations, hazards such as moving vehicles, electric current, exposure to chemicals, moving mechanical parts, etc. and/or loud noises. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and over 50 pounds rarely. Requires timely and regular adherence to established work schedules. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid driver''s license Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Salary Range: $65,023-$94,846
Compensation will be based on job-related creditable years of full-time, verified work experience. The entry-level rate will be awarded at the time of hire. Upon the return of employment verification forms from the candidate''s current and previous employers, the rate will be adjusted if creditable full-time experience is confirmed.
