Job Summary
Provide administrative, office management, and training support to the New Student Orientation and Transition Programs Department, including serving as a leader in providing information regarding the enrollment process, college resources, policies, procedures, and support services. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.
Essential Functions
Welcome students to El Paso Community College (EPCC), acquainting students with academic and campus support services, resources, and educational opportunities while adhering to federal, state, local, and institutional laws, regulations, and policies to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Responsible for developing, coordinating, and leading orientation sessions, campus tours, and student engagement activities on a one-to-one basis in small and large groups.
Serve as a knowledgeable resource of all EPCC and New Student Orientation aspects. Address concerns, respond to student questions, and offer suggestions for student success. Serve as College ambassador in and out of the campus, promoting the Colleges values.
Coordinate logistics for event session set-up. Prepare equipment, prepare print materials and proof and edit content, and acquire student merchandise and packets. Develop and manage databases with student records and schedule information sessions. Serve as liaison for division departments regarding the student enrollment process, including Recruitment, Admissions, Financial Aid, Testing, Career Services, and internal and external constituents.
Coordinate and supervise outreach endeavors by telephone, email, or text to all students attending orientation sessions. Create and share through social media platforms content to engage with current and potential students following College objectives, policies, and applicable laws.
Develop and implement specialized orientation training and workshops for office staff to include customer service, social engagement, college enrollment process, public speaking, presentation skills, soft skills, tour delivery, critical thinking, and college policies and regulations.
Assist in evaluating reports, decisions, and outcomes of department services in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches to improve student impact and efficiency of department and services provided.
Provide daily work direction, assignments, training, and supervision of assigned personnel, including orientation, training, performance evaluation, advising, and professional development.
Assist the office of Student Leadership and Campus Life when needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.
