    What We Are Looking For

    Oversee and direct the daily warehouse, shipping, and terminal operations of a bulk liquid storage and handling facility to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant receipt, storage, inventory management, and distribution of products. Coordinate closely with customers, carriers, and internal departments including EH&S, Procurement, Human Resources, Engineering, Commercial, and Accounting to support operational objectives and customer requirements. Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, operational procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.

    What You Will Do

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Leadership & Workforce Management

    • Supervise, coach, and develop Warehouse Attendants and Operators to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
    • Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily work activities, including interpreting work orders and allocating resources to meet operational requirements.
    • Lead employee onboarding, training, performance management, career development, and corrective action processes in accordance with company policies and standards.
    • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the terminal.
    • Provide operational leadership during abnormal events, troubleshooting shipping and logistics issues and coordinating incident response and investigations as required.
    • Ensure adherence to established quality standards, company policies, operating procedures, and site-specific requirements.
    • Promote employee engagement through regular communication, coaching, and recognition of individual and team performance.

    Warehouse & Terminal Operations

    • Direct and coordinate all warehouse and terminal activities, including the receipt, transfer, storage, inventory management, and shipment of bulk liquid products.
    • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of company policies, operating procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations to ensure safe and compliant operations.
    • Execute operational activities in accordance with management directives, standard operating procedures, and business objectives.
    • Organize and prioritize daily work activities while effectively balancing short-term operational needs with long-term projects and initiatives.
    • Conduct regular field observations, operational audits, and Management by Walking Around (MBWA) activities to evaluate performance, identify gaps, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
    • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance safety, productivity, reliability, customer service, and cost efficiency while supporting budget objectives.
    • Monitor terminal equipment performance and assist with troubleshooting and coordination of maintenance activities to minimize operational disruptions.
    • Support customer, regulatory, and internal audits by preparing documentation, facilitating inspections, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Promote and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality assurance standards throughout terminal operations.
    • Perform routine inspections and audits of production orders, inventory transactions, packaging operations, and shipping activities to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.
    • Verify proper operation and calibration of filling and packaging equipment to ensure accurate product volumes and weights.
    • Audit bulk and packaged product shipping processes to ensure adherence to customer specifications and transportation requirements.
    • Provide leadership coverage for operational management roles as required.

    Communication & Cross-Functional Coordination

    • Actively contribute to the achievement of terminal goals and objectives by communicating progress, challenges, recommendations, and action plans to management.
    • Maintain effective communication with terminal personnel to ensure alignment on priorities, operational requirements, and business objectives.
    • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with customers, carriers, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal departments, including EH&S, Human Resources, Commercial, Engineering, Procurement, Accounting, and Customer Service.
    • Collaborate closely with EH&S and Human Resources personnel to support compliance, workforce development, and labor-related support.
    • Develop and implement sustainable processes and procedures that eliminate recurring operational, asset reliability, and performance-related issues.
    • Champion the terminal's safety culture by actively participating in safety programs, audits, observations, and improvement initiatives.
    • Provide operational support and cross-functional coverage for key business functions, including customer service, inventory control, quality control, and shipping coordination.
    • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment by enforcing housekeeping standards, proper tool storage, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and prompt reporting and containment of safety or environmental incidents.
    • Promote a positive, professional, and customer-focused work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

    What You Need

    Education:

    • High school diploma or GED required

    Experience / Specific Knowledge:

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Three (3) years of related work experience in industrial or maintenance work.
    • Must possess working knowledge of liquid and/or dry bulk operations.
    • Supervisor experience in an industrial setting
    • Solid understanding of hazardous materials handling (HAZMAT).
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in a terminal, refinery, chemical plant, or bulk liquid storage environment.
    • Supervisory experience of employees in terminal, refinery, chemical plant, or bulk liquid storage environment.
    • Ability to read and interpret SOPs, safety regulations, and technical documents
    • Experience with warehouse management systems or terminal inventory software.

    Certifications / Licenses / Registrations:

    • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards and its insurers.
    • Ability to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) as issued by TSA (Transportation Security Administration).
    • Successful completion and passing of pre-employment background check, drug screen and other related testing.

    Competencies / Skills / Abilities:

    • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally (face to face and by telephone) and in writing with direct reports, co-workers, contractors, government officials, and management.
    • Read and understand written technical and compliance material (in English), including use and understanding of basic numerical calculations.
    • Ability to complete HAZ-MAT, DOT, Confined Space, and Lockout/Tagout training.
    • Must possess management/supervisory skills and be able to effectively lead and manage employees and contractors and well as handle personnel conflicts/issues.
    • Able to organize and prioritize multiple projects and adjust quickly as needed.
    • Able to analyze financial and cost data and develop conclusions and recommendations.
    • Ability to accept direction and work effectively & cooperatively with other people.
    • Must have intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
    • Must be goal orientated, self-motivated and able to work independently.
    • Must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be willing to work in protected areas at heights greater than six (6) feet above ground.
    • Must be able to work over water (dock).
    • Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
    • Must be able to hear and smell for deficiencies or hazards.
    • Must be able to work in confined spaces (inside storage tanks).
    • Must be able to pass a respiratory fit test.
    • Must be able to perform tasks while wearing a full-face respirator or supplied air.
    • Overtime may be required and is anticipated.
