The salary range for this position is $57,650 to $72,200, depending on experience and qualifications.
Summary
The Supervisor will assist with supervision of employees as needed in different areas and provide leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the completion and accuracy of daily chore sheets and environmental controls of the barns and complex throughout the day and implement corrective actions to address concerns found
- Commit and adhere to Daybreak Foods industry leading Animal Welfare practices and standards
- Monitor equipment for proper functioning and keep up with necessary PMs and ensure effective safety practices and procedures are being followed
- Assist with animal welfare programs and documentation as needed for audit purposes and responsible for bird moves
- Assist with performing performance evaluations and collect weekly numbers and create final reports
- Supervise daily operations of staff and Provide coaching for employees as needed and ensure proper training is completed for employees
- Assist with providing progressive discipline and corrective action as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Preferably an Associate degree in a related field (Ag, Business, etc.)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a poultry production setting preferred
- Leadership experience is required
- Bilingual Preferred and Basic Preventive Maintenance experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability and willingness to learn several associated positions
- Knowledge of effective safety practices
- General understanding of electrical and mechanical devices with good troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of computers including windows based programs and systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to provide effective leadership, coaching, mentoring and discipline
- Must have ability to plan, execute, and measure results and outcomes
- Ability to read, speak, and write English required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Needs to have ability to interact with individuals from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
- On call for 24 hour alarm calls and any corrective action needed to resolve them
Physical Demands
Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Temperature varies in relation to the outside temperature. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions.
