Supervisor of Student Services

RAHWAY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Rahway, NJ Job Title: Supervisor of Student Services Qualifications:

1. Valid New Jersey Supervisor Certificate
2. Special Education experience, preferably CST experience
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
4. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
5. Demonstrates ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural, diverse community Reports To: Director of Student Services Supervises: Child Study Team Members, Counselors, Related Services personnel, Special Education Teachers Primary Responsibilities:
6. Supervises special education staff (child study teams, related services personnel, counselors, special education teachers) and ensures that special education programs are consistent with the goals of Rahway Public Schools.
7. Assesses child study team and related services providers to determine compliance with state and federal mandates.
8. Assess and assist staff members to improve their professional performance by identifying areas of professional growth and provide support and resources to help staff meet their professional goals.
9. Identify programmatic needs by reviewing Rahway Public Schools special education data. Work to develop new programs, identify needed resources and provide staff with training to improve student outcomes.
10. Manage financial resources to provide students and staff with needed resources
11. Oversee staffing in school buildings in coordination and cooperation with the principals and director. Terms of Employment: Work year and salary to be determined by the board. 12-month position. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with New Jersey State law and the provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of certified staff.
