Supervisor of Technology Services

Job Description: The Supervisor of Technology Services provides leadership for the district's technology operations, overseeing infrastructure, cybersecurity, instructional technology, and technology support services. This position supervises the Technology Services team, manages strategic technology initiatives, and ensures reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that support student learning, staff productivity, and district operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Education Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible technology experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, device management, and cloud-based systems.

Technical Experience with many of the following is preferred:

  • Google Workspace Administration
  • Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
  • Windows, ChromeOS, and iOS device management
  • Cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and endpoint protection
  • Enterprise imaging and deployment solutions
  • Network infrastructure, wireless networks, firewalls, Cisco/Meraki environments
  • Jamf MDM, SCCM, virtualization, backup, and storage systems
  • Student information systems and educational applications (MiStar, Clever, DRC Insight, College Board, etc.)
  • Security cameras, access control, VOIP, content filtering, PA/intercom systems
  • Website management, social media, classroom technology, and audiovisual systems
  • Technology purchasing, inventory management, E-Rate, and bond-funded technology projects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the Technology Services Department, including supervising, mentoring, and evaluating staff.
  • Manage district technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, storage, backups, applications, and device ecosystems.
  • Administer Google Workspace, Active Directory, user accounts, and district-managed devices.
  • Oversee the technology help desk by prioritizing, assigning, and resolving support requests.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.
  • Plan and manage district technology projects, including infrastructure upgrades, E-Rate initiatives, and bond-funded technology improvements.
  • Manage technology budgets, purchasing, inventory, software licensing, vendor relationships, and asset lifecycle planning.
  • Support instructional technology and collaborate with district staff to implement effective technology solutions.
  • Maintain school safety technology, including surveillance, access control, intercom, PA, clocks, bells, and emergency notification systems.
  • Oversee district websites, digital communications platforms, board meeting technology, and audiovisual systems.
  • Maintain networked printers, copiers, classroom technology, and other district technology resources.
  • Document technology systems, procedures, and best practices to ensure operational continuity.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements aligned with district goals.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including FERPA, HIPAA, COPPA, CIPA, and other privacy and security requirements.
  • Provide regular technology updates to district leadership and perform other duties as assigned.
