The Outpatient Cardiac Rehab Supervisor directs and manages the daily operations, clinical services, staffing, and program
development of Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation programs. This role oversees patient care delivery, provides patient care,
supervises and mentors rehabilitation staff, coordinates resources, and ensures treatment plans, programs, and services are
implemented effectively in accordance with organizational policies and rehabilitation standards. The supervisor also serves as a
clinical resource, educator, spokesperson, and advocate for the rehabilitation continuum of care.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Provides direct patient care, as needed, to support department staffing needs.

• Manages clinical operations, business and financial planning, and quality improvement projects. Assumes responsibility for the efficient and profitable management of services.

• Responsible for execution of personnel actions relative to staff job performance including, but not limited to, performance evaluations, disciplinary and corrective actions, and development discussions.

• Develops and implements policies and procedures, workflows, and behavior standards to ensure operational consistency and efficiency, patient safety, and satisfaction for internal and external customers.

• Identifies, facilitates, and monitors Performance Improvement and department initiatives to improve clinical quality and workflow efficiency. Maintains performance metrics and compliance with standard pathways of care.

• Develops and coordinates schedules for staff and equipment to ensure optimal labor productivity and achieve on target performance metrics. Directs operations such as staff interviews, orientation, training, and competencies. Promotes team building and engagement to promote an efficient and positive work environment.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaboration with Program Medical Director, meeting to review patient outcomes and provision of services.

• Collaboration with inpatient rehabilitation services, providers of Phase I cardiac rehab.

• Maintenance of AACVPR certification via completion of annual outcomes report and recertification every 3 years.

Education - Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or

• Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology/Exercise Science

Experience - Required

• 5 years in cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Required

• Ability to implement all policies and procedures effectively.

• Ability to plan effectively, set appropriate priorities, and manage several complex projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

• Knowledge of medical office practice operations, including but not limited to, personnel management, patient scheduling, and insurance regulations.

• Knowledge of clinical operations and related business processes.

• Excellent computer skills, including electronic medical record (EMR) and Microsoft Office suite.

• Ability to compose business communications (reports, memos, letters, and e-mails).

• Ability to exercise judgment in making critical decisions.

Licenses and Certifications - Required

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - American Heart Association Upon Hire and

• BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association Upon Hire
