We are seeking resumes for a Supervisor - Paper Mill (Shift) (1 Opening) in our Wallula, WA facility.

Description of role:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of one (1) paper machine, while interfacing with the powerhouse, shipping, and maintenance departments to resolve daily issues.

Principle Accountabilities:

Responsible for employee safety, environmental compliance, machine efficiency, product quality, and crew training.

Responsible for crew meetings and communicating effectively to crew members and the day shift management team, ensuring and reinforcing that safety is a number one priority.

Resolve short and long-term cost and productivity issues.

Lead troubleshooting of equipment operation problems by ensuring that crews are trained to operate machine(s) in safe and effective manner.

Assist in identifying productivity, quality and efficiency bottlenecks.

Exercise leadership to improve safety and develop self-directed work teams.

Ability to work with other paper machine supervisors effectively and maintain a successful continuous operation.

Effective daily communication with crew, peers, and day shift management.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or bio-resource (pulp & paper) science engineering or 3+ years in a similar leadership role.

Minimum three years' experience in paper machine operations.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

Supervisory management with experience in hiring, coaching, performance development, and corrective action.

The successful candidate must possess the following Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must have strong demonstrated leadership skills and the proven ability to lead effective teams.

Problem solving skills and the ability to positively implement change are required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Starting salary range for position: $96,000 to $144,000.
  • Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
  • Paid Holidays.
  • Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
  • Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
