POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supervisor is responsible for the development, coordination, and operational management of their department. The Supervisor is also responsible for supervising department staff, assisting with program development, and business planning in collaboration with the Director of Ambulatory Operations. The Supervisor is responsible for collecting and processing departmental referrals, verifying and updating patient demographic data and verifying insurance eligibility, monitoring external reports, and data entry into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) daily for areas in which they supervise. The Supervisor is responsible for communicating with our Leadership Teams to ensure referrals are triaged and approved correctly, support the department along with monitoring workflows and work queues for accuracy. This would include RightFax submissions, internal referral request, department specific needs based off algorithms to triage and approve referrals timely. The Supervisor creates a friendly, cooperative impression throughout all interactions with internal and external customers and works independently to prioritize and manage multiple functions in fast-paced environment. The Supervisor collaborates with providers, staff and Enloe’s leadership team to plan, organize, coordinate, and monitor the provision of quality and efficient health care services and resources to promote optimal clinical, financial and satisfaction outcomes across the continuum of care.

Must demonstrate technical competence, communication skills, leadership skills, good organization, planning skills, creative problem solving and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis. Demonstrates knowledge of understanding different service lines throughout Enloe Medical Center. Able to communicate in a knowledgeable and articulate manner with physicians and nurses regarding patient status and care required. Able to work with other department staff and all other hospital personnel in professional, positive, efficient, and tactful manner. Able to deal with the public in a professional and tactful manner, as it relates to questions or concerns regarding patient’s conditions, status and care preferred. Ability to interface with all hospital departments so that the resources may be utilized to maximize patient care in an expedient fashion. Must be able to change priorities with the ever-changing patient status and subsequent workloads required. Must posse computer data entry skills. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position. Demonstrates strong leadership, decision-making and judgment skills.
