Supervisor - Production III

Our Client, an Automotive company, is looking for a Supervisor - Production III for their Redford, MI location.
 
Responsibilities:

• Implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
• Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
• Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
• Set and monitor product standards to ensure quality finished products.
• Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.

• Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
• High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in business or related field preferred.
• 5-7 years experience required.
• Demonstrated experience leading people in a production or manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of assembly operations and logistics
• Experience working with or within a UAW environment — the organization places a strong emphasis on building and maintaining a trust-based relationship with its UAW workforce
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address challenges in real time on the production floor
• Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage conflict constructively
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Understanding of quality metrics and production processes
• Education: Bachelor's degree with 1–2 years of experience, or associate’s degree with 5+ years of experience, or high school diploma/GED with 10+ years of experience
