Job ResponsibilitiesInvestigates operational problems and makes administrative judgments and decisions, consulting the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator On Call as necessary
Performs regular rounds on all nursing units; observes resident care and work performance of nursing staff and provides feedback to Nurse Managers
Responds to and provides leadership during hospital codes as required
Addresses concerns and complaints from employees, patients, families, and physicians using established facility systems
Provides information to the media in accordance with facility policy
Refers inter- and intra-departmental issues to the appropriate resources or resolves them directly as needed
Collaborates with unit staff and Nurse Managers to ensure adequate and appropriate staffing
Acts as a facilitator for collaboration between Nursing and Medical Staff
Assists in disseminating information and answering questions regarding policy, procedures, and other facility communications
Takes appropriate actions in response to safety hazards or legal implications
Accepts and completes special projects as assigned by the Director of Nursing
Serves on councils or committees to help develop policy, implement changes, and improve nursing practice
Demonstrates leadership by accepting interim management roles as needed
