Title: Supervisor, Specimen Processing Outreach Lab
Facility: St. Joseph's Hospital Outreach Processing
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the work processes in the various BayCare Hospital areas of receiving and processing of outreach specimens for testing, and referral of specimens to outside laboratories.
- Ensures full compliance with all pertinent regulatory agencies in regard to pre-analytical procedures and processes.
- Interacts with nursing, office staff, physicians, and clients regarding patient specimens.
- Oversees daily operations of BayCare Outreach Processing departments, including specimen receiving, processing, referral testing, staffing, workflow coordination, and service delivery.
- Provides leadership oversight for 24/7 outreach processing operations, including on-call response to staffing shortages, critical specimen issues, courier and transportation disruptions, system outages, referral laboratory concerns, and other events impacting service delivery.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, quality, and safety requirements related to pre-analytical laboratory operations.
- Leads recruitment, onboarding, training, competency assessment, coaching, and performance management of outreach processing team members.
- Monitors quality indicators, productivity metrics, turnaround times, and operational performance to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborates with laboratory leaders, nursing staff, physicians, clients, patient service centers, courier services, and referral laboratories to resolve issues and enhance service excellence.
- Serves as an operational leader during workflow disruptions, high-volume periods, and on-call situations, ensuring appropriate escalation and problem resolution.
- Participates in departmental projects, process improvement initiatives, and implementation of new workflows, services, and technologies.

Experience
- Required - 3 years of Clinical Laboratory experience
- Preferred - 5 years of Clinical Laboratory experience
Education
- Required - Associates
- Preferred - Bachelors
