Please Apply Through RSS

This opportunity is being managed in partnership with Rural Staffing Services. If you learned about this role through RSS, please submit your application through our process rather than applying directly to Jefferson Healthcare.

RSS works closely with the hospital and tracks candidate introductions, so direct applications do not create a separate or faster path. In fact, applying through both channels can create confusion and delay the process.

By applying through RSS, you allow us to properly represent you, communicate directly with the hiring team, advocate for your candidacy, and support you throughout the process.

At Rural Staffing Services, we are building a more transparent, honest, and human approach to rural healthcare recruitment. Our fees are intentionally reasonable and designed to remain accessible to rural healthcare organizations, and there is never a cost to the candidate.

This model only works when candidates who discover an opportunity through RSS honor that connection and apply through RSS.

Please apply through Rural Staffing Services so your candidacy can be handled clearly, professionally, and with the full support of our team.

This Is More Than a Sterile Processing Supervisor Role

Behind every safe procedure is a team ensuring that each instrument, device, endoscope, and supply is properly processed, available, and ready when needed.

Jefferson Healthcare is seeking an experienced and collaborative Sterile Processing Supervisor to provide day-to-day leadership for Sterile Processing operations, endoscopy reprocessing, and assigned surgical supply activities.

This is a working leadership role for someone who understands the technical demands of sterile processing and also knows how to coach people, improve systems, maintain compliance, and build a strong department culture.

You will work closely with Surgical Services leadership, physicians, procedural teams, clinics, Endoscopy, Infection Prevention, Supply Chain, Facilities, and Biomedical Engineering to help ensure safe, efficient, and dependable patient care.

The community offers the charm and connection of a smaller town while still providing access to Seattle, Victoria, and Vancouver.

For someone seeking both meaningful work and an exceptional quality of life, Port Townsend offers a place to build a career, put down roots, and feel part of something.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading daily Sterile Processing operations, staffing assignments, workflow priorities, and instrument processing schedules
  • Supervising and participating in decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of instruments and medical devices
  • Overseeing flexible endoscope cleaning, disinfection, inspection, testing, storage, maintenance, and documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with manufacturer Instructions for Use, infection prevention standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitoring sterilization quality assurance activities, including biological and chemical monitoring
  • Maintaining compliance with AAMI standards, AORN guidelines, SGNA standards, DNV requirements, CMS Conditions of Participation, and Washington State regulations
  • Managing instrument and surgical supply inventory, PAR levels, purchasing coordination, product rotation, backorders, substitutions, and vendor communication
  • Coordinating instrument repair, maintenance, replacement, and procurement
  • Developing orientation, competency, education, and professional development programs
  • Coaching, mentoring, evaluating, and developing Sterile Processing employees
  • Conducting competency assessments, performance evaluations, and corrective action when appropriate
  • Supporting department budgets, resource management, and responsible financial stewardship

  • Collaborating across Surgical Services, Endoscopy, Infection Prevention, Supply Chain, clinics, Facilities, and Biomedical Engineering
  • Maintaining accurate sterilization, quality, competency, inventory, and regulatory records
  • Performing Sterile Processing Technician duties when needed to support the department

  • Can balance competing priorities in a busy procedural environment
  • Understand that quality, documentation, and compliance are essential to patient safety
  • Approach problems thoughtfully and follow through on solutions
