PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

In this position, you will perform Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drafting of railroad bridge component work using AutoCAD. You will ensure that bridge component design work is completed in accordance with CPKC standards. This position can be headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, or Kansas City, Missouri. As a strong front-line leader, you will cultivate a culture of safety, reliability, and excellence while ensuring smooth operations within the structures department and supporting the safe, efficient movement of the railway network. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform computer-aided design drafting of railroad bridge component work using AutoCAD • Ensure component design work is completed in accordance with CPKC standards • Develop underwater bridge inspection reports with substructure plan and profile drawings • Perform field inspections to validate measurement for bridge component designs • Maintain and update CPKC bridge and culvert standard drawings and specifications

POSITION REQUIREMENT

High school diploma or general equivalency Valid drivers license Associates degree in engineering technology or CAD drafting AutoCAD drafting experience 4 years of railroad bridge design experience or bachelors degree in civil engineering preferred Bachelors degree in civil engineering and Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineers and field managers to support execution of bridge component design work Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in computer systems and AutoCAD Participate in on-call schedule for emergency response, ensuring operational coverage

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
