The STEM/Health Sciences Supervisor will lead and evolve STEM and Health Sciences academic support services within the Tutoring and Learning Center through the coordination of tutoring operations, development of collaborative campus partnerships, and implementation of student-centered support strategies. This role works closely with faculty, staff, and institutional partners to identify student needs, improve access to academic support, and promote student engagement, persistence, and completion. Through supervision, data-informed decision making, continuous assessment, relationship building, and proactive problem solving, this position develops responsive and innovative support systems that advance departmental and college-wide initiatives while supporting the mission and strategic goals of the Tutoring and Learning Center and Sinclair Community College.
The salary for this position begins at $59,661.00 and is commensurate with education and experience.

Principal Accountabilities
Academic Support Operations & Student Services
- Lead, oversee, and assign divisional tutoring operations, resource labs, and academic support services to ensure responsive, high-quality, and student-centered support aligned with departmental and institutional goals
- Coordinate tutoring coverage, scheduling, staffing, and service delivery across multiple modalities and support areas
- Monitor student engagement, utilization patterns, and operational effectiveness to identify service gaps, respond to student needs, and improve support delivery
- Assist in direct student support, academic resource navigation, and problem resolution as needed
Staff Supervision, Development & Team Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, support, and evaluate professional and student tutoring staff
- Foster a collaborative, supportive, and growth-oriented team culture that aligns with the mission of the Tutoring and Learning Center
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to strengthen staff effectiveness and student support practices
Campus Partnership Development
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with staff, faculty, academic divisions, and specialized support programs to strengthen student support initiatives and align services with course and institutional needs
- Partner with staff, faculty, and departments to support classroom engagement efforts, embedded support models, and proactive student success initiatives
Data Analysis, Assessment, & Continuous Improvement
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate tutoring utilization, engagement, and student success data to support assessment, planning, and continuous improvement efforts
- Utilize data-informed practices to recommend and implement improvements to services, processes, and student support strategies.
- Support departmental reporting, data validation, and institutional initiatives connected to retention, persistence, and student success
Strategic Initiatives, Outreach & Innovation
- Develop, implement, and assess innovative programs, outreach efforts, workshops, embedded support models, and student engagement strategies that promote student access, persistence, and completion
- Identify opportunities to expand or improve academic support services in response to evolving student and institutional needs
- Contribute to departmental, divisional, and college-wide initiatives through proactive problem solving, collaboration, and strategic planning
- Support the exploration and implementation of new technologies, processes, and approaches that enhance student learning and support services
Other Duties as Assigned
- Perform additional responsibilities and special projects that support the mission, operations, and strategic priorities of the Tutoring and Learning Center and Sinclair Community College
Requirements
- Minimum of a master's degree in education, adult education, student affairs, or STEM/Health Sciences content area supervised required
- Minimum of two years of experience supervising, coordinating, or leading tutoring, academic support, student success, education, or related programs required
- Experience working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and various student populations in an educational or student support environment required
- Experience with tutoring, teaching, coaching, mentoring, or academic support services required
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners required
- Excellent written, verbal, and professional communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate information, facilitate collaboration, and respond professionally in a fast-paced environment required
- Knowledge of effective tutoring, coaching, student engagement, and academic support practices with the ability to supervise, support, and develop staff within a student-centered environment required
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, interpret data, and utilize information to support continuous improvement and informed decision making required
- Ability to think creatively, adapt to evolving institutional and student needs, and effectively utilize technology, systems, and digital tools to enhance services and support strategies required
- Experience utilizing data, reporting tools, or assessment practices to monitor services, evaluate outcomes, and support decision making preferred
- Experience developing initiatives, outreach efforts, workshops, or student support programming preferred
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, student information systems, scheduling platforms, or student support technologies preferred
