Schedule:

Assigned to 1st Shift operating on a rotating 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, including required weekend coverage as part of the standard rotation.

Work environment:

Non-temperature controlled warehouse; exposure to seasonal heat and cold.

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and transportation coordination. This role ensures operational excellence through effective workforce leadership, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, quality standards, and continuous process improvement while delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and transportation activities.
  • Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered within required service levels and timelines.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through effective controls, cycle counting processes, and inventory management practices.
  • Monitor product flow, warehouse layout, and material handling processes to maximize safety, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments and transportation activities to meet customer requirements while maintaining quality and cost standards.
  • Track shipments, resolve logistics issues, and reconcile freight-related documentation and invoices as required.

Leadership & Employee Development

  • Lead, coach, train, and develop warehouse personnel to promote a culture of safety, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance management.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development and succession planning efforts.
  • Manage employee attendance, scheduling, and workforce allocation to meet operational demands.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment through training, observation, and corrective action when necessary.
  • Support quality management initiatives and ensure adherence to applicable ISO, TL9000, customer, and internal operational standards.
  • Investigate, document, and address workplace incidents, injuries, employee concerns, and policy violations in accordance with company procedures.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Analyze operational performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, safety, and customer service.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures and work standards.
  • Monitor key operational metrics and prepare reports to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to corrective action requests and implement sustainable solutions to address root causes.
  • Leverage available technologies, reporting tools, and AI-enabled solutions to improve workflows, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.

Facility Operations

  • Directly supervises warehouse employees

Managerial Responsibility

  • This role has direct reports.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to walk and stand during shifts between 8 and 12 hours long
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, reaches above the head, kneel, crouch, and /or stretch during shifts
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Required to frequently use fingers, hands and wrists; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance
  • Able to consistently work at a fast pace and maintain high productivity and accuracy
  • Must be able to talk to communicate information and hear others as well as sounds and signals in the warehouse
  • Must be available to work extended hours as needed

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, and material handling practices.
  • Experience utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and inventory management tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel functionality such as formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor''s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
  • Experience with inventory control, material handling, transportation coordination, and warehouse management systems.
  • Experience working within quality-managed operations (ISO, TL9000, or similar environments) preferred
