Help The public U.S. Citizens Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties Independently perform complex and highly specialized procedures for sections of the Radiology Department. Maintain staffing levels, develops and evaluates performance improvement, safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Supervise assigned employees, plans work to be accomplished by subordinates. Interview candidates for positions, recommend appointments, promotion, or reassignment. Serve as Supervisor and Senior Technologist of the Department of Radiology. Demonstrate to new staff and students on the proper use and methods associated with equipment and their associated software.
Requirements Conditions of employment This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment. This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of 18 years on a recurring basis. All applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random drug testing to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support BLS certification from or in accordance with the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification, e.g., ALS, does not supersede BLS. Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. This position requires the employee to wear a uniform scrubs or other appropriate medical professional attire while on duty. This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons, documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire. This position may require the incumbent to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period.

Basic Requirements for Supervisory Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist Radiology Certification Public Law 97-35 requires that persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75. Essentially, they must:
Specialized Experience One year of specialized experience which includes performing radiographic procedures, distributing workload among employees, and reviewing completed work of subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade-level position in the federal service, GS-10.
Education Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Radiologic Science, Medical Imaging Science, and other related fields of study.
Combination of Education and Experience A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then, divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours or equivalent beyond the second year, total graduate semester hours minus 36, by 18. Add the two percentages.
Education Foreign Education If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
