JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary

The Supervisor, Recovery provides day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for assigned recovery services and staff. This position supports the delivery of person-centered, recovery-oriented services designed to improve engagement, stability, independence, and long-term recovery for individuals with mental health and/or substance use needs.

The Supervisor provides supervision, coaching, and performance oversight to recovery staff; monitors service delivery, documentation, productivity, referrals, and client outcomes; and works collaboratively with clinical teams and community partners to ensure individuals are connected to the services and supports needed to achieve their recovery goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day supervision, consultation, coaching, and support to assigned recovery staff, which may include Recovery Specialists, Peer Specialists, Peer Advocates, Care Coordinators, or other recovery-focused team members.
• Oversees daily program operations, including caseload management, referrals, engagement, service delivery, documentation, productivity, and continuity of care.
• Ensures recovery services are person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and focused on helping individuals achieve meaningful recovery goals and increased independence.
• Supports staff in connecting individuals to recovery-oriented resources, including peer supports, substance use treatment, housing, employment and education resources, benefits, transportation, healthcare, and other community-based supports.
• Promotes active engagement and retention in services, including outreach and re-engagement efforts for individuals at risk of disengaging from care.
• Supports recovery planning that incorporates individual strengths, preferences, natural supports, and identified social drivers of health.
• Ensures appropriate onboarding, orientation, ongoing training, and development of assigned staff, including recovery-oriented practice, professional boundaries, documentation, engagement strategies, relapse prevention, and applicable program requirements.
• Reviews documentation, service activity, and other program data to ensure services meet organizational, contractual, funding, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitors team performance, including Collaborative Service Goals, documentation quality, access, engagement, and applicable program or contract outcomes, and develops improvement plans when needed.
• Conducts routine quality assurance reviews and works with leadership and Quality staff to identify trends, barriers, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensures continuity of care through coordination with therapists, medical providers, case managers, peers, crisis staff, other Centerstone programs, families and natural supports, and community partners as appropriate.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and recovery resources to strengthen referral pathways and access to services.
• Participates in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, performance evaluations, coaching, corrective action, and staff development in accordance with organizational policies.
• Ensures appropriate coverage when positions are vacant or staff are unavailable and works proactively to minimize disruption to individuals receiving services.
• Provides direct recovery support or other program services when necessary to maintain continuity of care and meet program needs, consistent with qualifications and scope of practice.
• Participates in program planning, implementation, and evaluation and communicates program needs, trends, barriers, and performance concerns to management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities, which may include providing direction, training, coaching, performance feedback, staff development, performance evaluation, and corrective action in accordance with system policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively through written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods.
• Knowledge of recovery-oriented systems of care and person-centered behavioral health services.
• Knowledge of mental health, substance use disorders, co-occurring conditions, and recovery principles.
• Ability to develop, coach, and mentor staff.
• Ability to establish supportive relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
• Knowledge of community-based recovery resources and social support systems.
• Ability to monitor performance metrics, documentation quality, and service outcomes.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and planning skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical teams, community partners, individuals served, and families.
• Commitment to promoting dignity, self-determination, resilience, and recovery.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, social work, psychology, human services, substance use services, or a related field required.

Experience

Minimum of three years of experience providing behavioral health, substance use, peer, recovery, care coordination, or related community-based services.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid Florida driver’s license with a safe driving record when driving is required for the position.

Applicable peer or recovery certification is preferred when consistent with program assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior supervisory, lead, or program coordination experience preferred.
• Experience supervising recovery-oriented, peer, substance use, or community-based behavioral health services.
• Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Florida Certified Recovery Peer Specialist or other recognized peer/recovery credential.
• Experience with community outreach, recovery engagement, care coordination, and linkage to social support resources.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Work is performed in an office, clinical, residential, and/or community-based environment depending on role and assignment. The position may involve routine use of office, clinical, or electronic systems and equipment. Duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts based on program needs.

This position is classified as sedentary work. Sedentary work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. $48,300.00--$67,700.00
